Chiara Gelmini has always been into art and show business, being active in the fields of illustration (she is known for her illustrations – the “pupoli” – of the bestseller in Friuli Venezia Giulia El Pedocin by Micol Brusaferro), acting, dance and music. Even before becoming one of Les Babettes,, the singing swing trio born in Trieste in 2011 she is still part of, she dedicated herself to theatre and cabaret, a passion she is still carrying on. Also animation and short films are not new to her: in 2006 she won the second prize at the Enel Digital Contest with the short movie Al Buio and she also realized other short films and animations while studying visual and performing arts at the IUAV University of Venice. Finally, she has acted in different plays, the last one being part of the Rinarrate project, promoted by the GOAP in order to battle violence against women.
Born and grown up in Sassari, Domenico Montixi has always been passionate about filmmaking. During his studies at the CMT University of Pisa and at the DAMS University of Florence, he had the opportunity to meet people who shared his passion, who he made his first experiences in front of and behind the camera with. He built his know-how in the field of filmmaking by being firstly an actor starring in short films (L’eclisse), movies (Sagrascia, Perfidia) and video clips (Bassi Maestro, Salmo e vari altri), then assistant director (Bassi Maestro, Salmo e vari altri) and finally director of short films, promos, spot announcements and video clips. His first and most representative short movie is No Redemption with…Don Mitraglia.
Born in Trieste, graduated in Venice at Ca’ Foscari University, Economics and Management for Arts and Cultural Activities, Francesc Delise, after attaining a Master’s Degree in Film Production, she moved to New York, United States. Once she was back in Italy, she began to work for several Film Festivals (Trieste Film Festival, Venice Film Festival, MedFilmFestival in Rome). Along with the festivals experience, she has been working in the international sales and distribution field, taking part in international markets such as Cannes, Berlin, Teheran, Guadalajara, San Sebastian, etc. She is also active as first assistant director in television, film industry and theatre. Recently she has been a member of the jury at the 29th Festival de Cine de Medina del Campo in the international short films section.
Martina Marafatto has started her cinematographic education at the Experimental Television Centre in Rome, where she studied to become television operator, and then continued her studies at the DAMS University of Udine, where she entered the same student association of Giordano Bianchi. Starting from this experience, Bianchi and Marafatto has forged a professional cooperation that, after 8 years, has led to the creation of Border Studio in 2014, where she still works as author and editor. Martina has always argued that the editorial work requires not only technical skills, but also a good aptitude for listening: “you need to be a bit of a psychologist when you deal with the shot material; if the editor manages to “open” the vision to his director, then they are a good editor. An editor should be able to efficiently communicate with the director, in order to help them create their movie”.
The musician and author Massimiliano Cernecca, by now known as “Maxino”, especially on the web, has realized numerous videos that have become viral both locally and nationally. His channel has recently reached and then exceeded 10 million views. He is collaborating with Radio Deejay, where he runs the live programme “Canzone Espressa”: 15 words randomly chosen by the audience and one-hour time to realize text, music, arrangement and editing. He published three comic books, he released three CDs and wrote with his partner Flavio Furian various theatre plays.
Umberto Gaudino graduated with a specialisation in playing the violin from the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory of Torino, where he also studied composition and piano. He is an emerging composer and producer in the fields of pop-commercial music and audiovisual soundtracks. One of his most important works has been the production of the hymn in occasion for the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy in 2011 on commission by the province of Torino. Between 2011 and 2012 he has also participated in the selections of the Sanremo Young Festival, with a project sponsored by the recording major Warner Music Italy. In 2013 he composed the music for the web trailer of Dolce&Gabbana Winter 2014 Women fashionshow. In 2014 he worked again for Dolce&Gabbana and composed the soundtrack for the fashion movie Arborea, produced by Dolce&Gabbana and Swide; this soundtrack was one of the four nominations for the “Best Music” category at the 2014 Los Angeles Fashion Film Awards. Since 2012 he is member of the electro-pop duo “IlBlog”, in the role of keyboardist and producer.
